DR. MAURER’S RECOMMENDED FOODS



SOURDOUGH BREAD
Borealis, Black Crow & some Standard Bakery breads are true sourdough


YOGURT
(Whole fat, plain – you add the desired sweetener)
7 Stars, Hawthorne, Butterworks. Local sources are Moogurt.


• NOT Stonyfield nor Brown Cow due to the fermenting shortcut of adding pectin & inulin.
• NOT Nancy’s due to the addition of potentially rancid dried milk solids, used as a thickener.


DAIRY
Feta Cheese: Valbreso (100% Sheep). Found in health food stores or Micucci’s Market, Portland ME.

Raw Milk Cheese: Will not say “pasteurized” on the list of ingredients.

Butter: Organic Valley Cultured

Crème Fraiche


FERMENTED FOODS
Sauerkraut: Morse’s (located in Waldoboro ME) or Real Pickles.
Spiced Kim Chee.
